March in Rwanda
We have so much exciting news to share with you all about what has been going on in March with Kids Across Africa Camp ~ Rwanda.
The month started out with the Parsons traveling to photograph the country. The purpose of partnering with them is to have the ability to host dessert and coffee evenings with images of Rwanda. We will host our first event evening in Kansas City, MO. More details to come. But if you are in KC, don't make plans for 17 April 2009 at 7 pm. You will not want to miss this evening. Photographs for purchase, a Q&A with Jonathan and the Parsons, coffee, dessert, fellowship ~ Keep an eye out for the final details on the evening. You can preview a few photos here. If you would like to host an event in your area, please email volunteer@kidsacrossafrica and I'd love to talk details with you.
19 MARCH 2009 will go down in the history books of KAAC~R. On this day, the final transfer of money for the land, was deposited in the bank account of the seller AND the well was drilled. As I spoke with Jonathan on the phone that day, I cried. It all came together. The Lord knew that on this day, the land would be paid for and water would flow. I found it no coincidence that our God, who uses water in so many ways in the Bible, would have it flow this day. I shared with him that I felt like the Lord was baptizing the land. Please join with us in prayers of thanksgiving that this phase is complete.
On 11 March, the first team of students would begin their travels to Rwanda. 12 middle school boys from K-Kountry and 3 leaders made their way to visit the country and see where KAAC~R is going to build. They were able to travel to an orphanage and help paint the walls and meet some of the children who will be campers one day. KAAC~R is thankful to each of them for giving of their spring break to serve the children of Rwanda. THANKS K-KOUNTRY!
Watch out Rwanda because K-CO is about to happen next! 20 March was the start date for the next group of students and leaders. This group is still there and they are posting about it on blogs, twitter, flickr, facebook and everywhere else on the web that they can.

Luke's recent post on his blog about visiting the property is incredible. Thanks Luke!
Thanks Andy for choosing Rwanda and for bringing the future of America to meet the future of Rwanda. I pray that this is the beginning of a lasting relationship. THANK YOU K-CO kids for your generous heart and willingness to learn. I pray that your time around the table and evenings talking have allowed you to expand on what you have seen and experienced.
As the month comes to an end, the work continues. As we prayerfully seek financial support, we hope to complete the first phase of building by December 2010. This phase will allow for construction of the sports fields, courts, the kitchen/dining hall and an outdoor church. When this is complete we will be able to host the first Kids Across Africa Camp ~ Rwanda campers at the facility. Will you please join us in making this happen. You are able to donate here.
Thank you for your support of KAAC~R. Know that when I pray I thank the Lord for those who share in this great adventure with us. That is YOU!
Kindly,
'becca Nimrod
