a SPEEDY donation

I received an email this week from a young person who said they would be sending a donation to the office and the amount was equal to a speeding ticket. I was quite curious as I continued to read. As I read I discovered that this young person was moving a little too quickly on the streets in their small town. (As in many small towns, families have known families for generations and well, I'll let you read between the lines.)

As this young person spoke with the small town police officer when being pulled over for speeding, they were asked a rather odd question. The officer wanted to know the name of their favorite nonprofit organization. This person shared that it was Kids Across Africa. The officer then told them to make a donation to the orginization in the amount of the speeding ticket AND told them to slow down.

We are not in anyway sharing this story to glorify the speeding mishap or make light of a broken law, but more as a way of saying that in quite unconventional ways, the donations made to KAAC~R are allowing the lives of the youth in the States change the lives of the youth in Rwanda.

Thanks,
Jonathan
